LA GRANDE COURSE DU GRAND PARIS SAINT-DENIS

With its two events - a 10k and a half-marathon - designed to be accessible to as many people as possible, La Grande Course du Grand Paris aims to erase borders and bring the people of Greater Paris together around a single event. Created in 2017, the 1st edition of La Grande Course was a popular support event for the Paris 2024 bid, with over 7,000 participants for this race, which at the time only offered a 10km.

Innovative in being the first race to cross 3 départements and 5 communes to finish on the Stade de France athletics track, La Grande Course stood out for its ambitious eco-responsible approach: it was the 1st race in the Ile-de-France region to offer 0 plastic bottles, 0 finisher t-shirts (which are offered as an option) and 0 disposable cups. 

At its last edition in March 2023, the Grande Course brought together more than 12,000 runners who had the honour of treading the legendary athletics track for the last time in its history, before it was resurfaced for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Popular, innovative and responsible, the values that make up the race's DNA are reflected in some very concrete actions: zero plastic bottles distributed, cups recovered, washed and reused at other events, medals to be planted, 100% organic and local refreshment stands and much more. 

The Grande Course du Grand Paris aims to be in tune with the times: innovative, eco-responsible, supportive and popular. We want to show that it is possible to organise a major foot race in a major city while limiting the impact on the environment.
